Does GPI offer initial training to those looking to enter the plumbing trade?

GPI does NOT offer initial training. You must have at least three years primary field experience under the direct supervision of licensed plumber AND have an application on file with the State of Georgia to take the plumbing licensing exam.

How do I get the initial 3 years experience?

Find a plumbing company in your general area, or in an area where you want to work, that is hiring apprentices. A quick Google search will usually get you the info you need.

Is the Georgia Plumber's Exam open book?

YES! As of December 2, 2024 the Journeyman exam is open book. Sorry Masters. Yours is not open book.

Why would the Board office request copies of my W-2?

The Board may request copies of your W-2 Wage and Earnings Report to verify employment. It is NOT to verify earnings.
